Marylen has been my friend and role model for 50 years. I have seen her tireless energy and creativity change the lives of the elderly throughout the country. Marylen lives the life she has built for us all. She is a woman of such thoughtfulness and generosity and lives life to the fullest. I have been an OASIS volunteer in connections for 20 years as an instructor and now as a zoom assistant. It’s been a very rewarding experience. Thanks for all your guidance throughout the years. Happy birthday.

I have known Marylen since I was in grammar school. She was one of my favorites. I will never forget the day you took Gail Fudemberg and I to the Art Museum. You are a huge role model for all women. You have done so much good! Love to you and enjoy this very special birthday. ❤️

I remember visiting a tiny corner of Famous Barr Crestwood “many” years ago to learn just what Oasis was. I am now a retired LCSW but I started out working for CORP and was invested in finding all resources I could locate to support Senior adults. It is hard to remember when you were not forging ahead with Oasis, expanding all of the time.
Thank you for all you have done. I never expected to one of those Seniors myself!

Such an inspiration and talent! It was an honor to know and be guided by Marylen so many years ago when OASIS was in its second decade of great growth across the nation. Kind, energetic, and so creative is she! My work with OASIS 30 years ago impacted me in many wonderful ways, showering me in personal growth. Today, as a senior myself, I am in awe of all the ways OASIS has touched thousands upon thousands of lives, and I continue to grow because of the vision Marylen brought forth into action and reality. Thank you, Marylen. You know that not one of my own birthday’s ever comes and goes without my thinking of you as well, Marylen, being reminded of all that you have given and continue to give and inspire. Dear Dear Marylen, I want you to know how much you inspired me early in my career. Your advocacy for older adults became a model for me as I moved into a health care career. I took that lesson and advocated for not only the elderly (starting a geriatric specialty designation for a variety of medical specialities, initiating a pet therapy program, and building an inpatient hospice unit at TMC) but then ultimately advocating for all of those who lack care. Of course I did not do this on my own, but I learned about building coalitions from you. You have done well in your life, enjoy your birthday! Much Love, Lorraine

Because you are in the world, I was able to attend many wonderful classes at Oasis and learn a lot of new things including being entertained to boot! I thoroughly enjoy Oasis and their classes. I have been tutoring for approx. 13 years at a grade school near me. The classes Oasis offers are excellent. Keep up the good work. Appreciate all you have done.
