St. Louis children to be photojournalists for “Pictures of Hope”
Children experiencing homelessness will have a unique opportunitiy to express their hopes and dreams visually through "Pictures of Hope" at Oasis at the Center of Clayton August 9, 2014 at 9:30. Oasis is collaborating with photographer Linda Solomon and Gateway 180 on the project, which is sponsored by Chevrolet.
Mahler Ballroom still a St. Louis dance landmark
Jacob A. Mahler, St. Louis’ “oldest and best known dancing master” began teaching dance at age 11 in his father’s dance academy. He took over the business at age 17 in 1875 and was able to build his own splendid ballroom and residence in 1906 at 4911 Washington Street. On July 31, the ballroom will serve as the site of an Oasis historical dance event.

Oasis sets goal to place 2500 tutors in St Louis area schools
Tutors from across the St. Louis region gathered at the Center of Clayton on June 25 and at Fort Zumwalt in St. Charles County on July 1 to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Oasis Tutoring and kick off an area-wide campaign to recruit tutors for the 2014-2015 school year.
